This book came into my life when I was trying to decide whether to take off on my own to travel around the world. The tips and realistic advice about women traveling indepentently inspired me to pursue my travel dream. Marybeth Bond has a writing style that instantly makes you feel comfortable. She explains the ins and outs of travel in a way that makes it all seem possible. I would recommend the book to anyone considering a trip abroad on her own.

I got a copy of your book before I left on my solo trip to China. I was > >inspired by the commonsense, supportiveand inspiratinal words in thebook. > >I always keep a journal on my trips. This time I made copies of thelittle > >inset boxes with the words of wisdom. I randomly glued them into myjournal > >before I left. It was amazing and inspirational where these words of > >wisdom showed up. For example, I was on a train somewhere betweenBeijing > >and Xian. I was in a sleeper with two older Chinese businessmen anda > >fellow from New Zealand. We were all shocked about sharing thesleeper. > >The room was hot, very hot and stuffy. In the middle of the > >>night one of the businessmen wakes up, turns on the light and starts > >coughing, hacking, and spitting. I bail out of my bunk, go to thedining > >car, and start writing. I am the only Westerner in the car. In my > >journal, the saying on p 13 was on the page. "As a woman, my fearof being > >cooped up in my home without new challenges, new conversations, newvistas, > >far out weighs any fears I might have of traveling solo in a strangeland." > > Those words made my current experience much more the adventure. This book > >contributed greatly to a wonderful trip. Thanks.> >>> >> > >>Ev Levine, photographer, mother, wife, and addicted traveller. > >>-----------------------
