I bought this for my 9 year old daughter for Christmas as she has decided she wants to be a Fashion Designer when she grows up. The kit say’s recommended for age 10 and up, but I thought she’s close enough and wanted to give her a few different design kits to try out. This one she really liked, however she played with it for one day and I can see it will probably be the one that sits and never gets touched again. It was very difficult for her to put together an actual dress. I think what she ended up creating was mostly “capes” and “shawls”. I would definately say this is a kit that is best for age’s 11 and up or with kids with a little bit more experience in actual sewing.

My 8 year old daughter enjoys this! I purchased this because she is also taking a fashion class. she has spent hours creating!

I bought this for my 10y/o daughter after she began redesigning her Barbie clothing. She loves it and had a new outfit for her doll created this first day. I highly recommend it!

My 11-year old, a big fan of Project Runway, spotted this in Highlights toy magazine and wanted it. She is really enjoying it, but it does require patience on her part and supervision on mine. I don’t know if Amazon will print my review, but I gotta tell ya, their price for the exact same product (listed as $199 on 12/22/08) is almost 5 times the amount we paid. Like mama said, better shop around!

It looks more fun than it may be. Small items could be lost easily.
